This 1948 Cadillac Convertible was purchased as a rust-free car in 1998 at the NSRA Street Rod Nationals in Louisville, KY. It was later designed to be a rolling product lab and cruiser for Holley Carburetors’ President and CEO Jeff King. The 425 HP big block engine was fitted with Holley’s new multipoint fuel injection and other enhancements, which added low-end torque and better fuel economy. The car was named, “Midnight Rider” and unlimited dollars were put into the car by Holley’s technicians. The body was shaved, power windows, power doors and shaved trunk were added, and the car was painted a Mercedes dark blue lacquer paint. Comfortable Cadillac Eldorado electric seats were covered in tan leather.
In 2003, the car was stripped down to bare metal and over the next 11 years was put into showroom condition. A new black top was installed, along with new paint and a total renovation. *This car won the coveted award “Modified Best of Show” at the big Boardman Park Car Show in Boardman, Ohio in 2014. There is not a finer example of a modified 1948 Cadillac Convertible anywhere.
