1966 Ford Mustang 289 Convertible

1966 Ford Mustang 289 Convertible - Details

One of Ford’s Most Popular Classic Mustangs. The 66’s were outfitted with a new front grille, side grille, side ornamentation, gas cap and wheel covers. The new side ornamentation is perhaps the most identifiable mark on a 66 Mustang. Many would describe it as a chrome ornament that looks like the letter “E”, as opposed to the 65 Model’s “little L” shape.

There were two bucket seats in the front with a floor-mounted gearshift and a backbench. In front of the driver, the complete dash-panel with its four round dials and a wide speedometer completed the image of that special car.

This cosmetic restoration included refreshing the 289/200 hp engine and automatic transmission with a Flowmaster exhaust. A fresh basecoat/clearcoat paint, detailed engine bay and undercarriage, new power operated top, interior, fuel tank, shocks, bumpers, exterior trim and styled steel wheels with white lettered tires.

Several upgrades were recently performed which included power steering, power assisted drilled and slotted front disc brakes with dual master cylinder, a center console, and AM/FM radio. Now it is time to put down the top and enjoy a cruise on a sunny day in one of Ford’s popular muscle cars.
