Category: 1960s

1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 Fastback - Details

Authentically restored 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1. Delivered new to C&C Motors in Horsham, Pennsylvania, equipped with the S-code 390/320 HP engine, C6 auto trans and 3.00:1 rear end. It is one of only 81 Silver Jade Mustang Mach 1 Fastbacks equipped with S-code 390-4V engine, auto trans, black bucket seat interior, and factory air. Refinished in beautiful Silver Jade with Black Mach 1 stripes, as-original, its only departure from originality are the period-correct BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires on chromed Magnum 500 wheels.

The Mach 1, introduced in 1969, was Ford’s replacement for the GT package. The Mach 1 made no bones about its mission as a bare-knuckle street fighter, wearing a blacked-out hood treatment with either an imitation or Shaker hood scoop, reflective body-side and tail Mach 1 stripes, and color-keyed dual racing mirrors. The Mach 1 was more than image; Competition suspension was standard equipment, and engine choices ranged from the 351/250 HP V-8 to the wild 428/335 HP Super Cobra Jet. The Mach 1’s Deluxe Décor Group interior offered high-back knitted Clarion vinyl bucket seats, center console, simulated wood-grain trim, a clock in the passenger dash pod, and special instrumentation. Furthering its racer image were NASCAR hood pins, chromed styled steel wheels, and a pop-open gas lid. This car’s front and rear spoilers and rear-window Sport Slats were popular options, as were its power steering, power front disc brakes, tinted glass, Sport Deck folding rear seat and AM radio.
